Week 3: Green

Again, very short 3-day week. It was Thanksgiving and not a lot going on at work, so I only needed to go into the office Mon-Wed. Chose a really simple theme! Just wear green.

Green is a color I don’t necessarily love, but I seem to own a lot of it, and I think I look good in most of its tones.

Monday

I really enjoy these shoes. They’re very cute and extremely feminine, which isn’t something I normally gravitate towards. They’re a blue and green hounds tooth pattern.

The shirt is 100% silk. Which means I’ve never washed it. I bought it at a boutique in Blackstone in Omaha that unfortunately no longer exists. The shirt itself was a plain solid color and then “artistically splattered” with black paint by a local artist, according to the person working in the store when I bought it. The green is kind of bright teal with a metallic shine to it.

Tuesday

It doesn’t show amazingly well in this photo, but all my greens in this photo (the cardigan, the shoes, and the belt) all are this lovely cool-toned dark green. Feels like a nice on-trend color for 2018 winter palette.

Wednesday

Crazy casual. Those are actually jeans. My office was a ghost town Wednesday, so I felt like it wouldn’t matter that I was hearkening back to my glorious TDA casual days.

Again, my green was a nice jewel-toned deep green. Very pretty, with some nice detail at the neck.

Week 2: Contrasts

4-day week this time. I chose to do contrasting colors. Super straight forward color-theory rules here: yellow/purple, blue/orange, red/green.

I haven’t told anyone at work what I’m doing, but I’ve been getting pretty consistently positive feedback on my outfits, which is good! No one seems to think I’m being unprofessional or dressing too flashy. This week was, in my opinion, the first true test of how much I could get away with in a traditional, formal business environment. I wore a lot of bright colors and the contrasts definitely stood out against what my co-workers wear.

Here they are!

I’m very J.Crew, apparently.

Wednesday

I tried really hard not to be incredibly Christmas with this particular contrast. I *think* it went okay.

Thursday

This was my favorite outfit of the week. Also the one that got the most compliments.

Friday

Woohoo! Slightly more casual Friday. But not really. I went with black and white for my final day of contrast, an always classic color combo.
