Week 39: The Office Characters

This them was suggested by Alexa. It was a very, very fun week to plan. The outfits are all inspired by characters from the Office, but not necessarily costumes perfectly mimicking a character. I hope that comes through.

Monday: Dwight

This one is probably the one that could be the most costumey? Dwight wears basically the exact same thing every single day. Some yellow-colored shirt, with mostly deep, cool brown suits. I went ahead and went with black pants, because seriously, who owns brown suiting? I think I really captured his essence with this look, though. I even went ahead and wore my tortoise shell glasses, instead of my normal ones to fit the look a little closer.

Tuesday: Angela

Angela is entirely conservative, prim and proper. I went for office staples. Pencil skirt, white button up, and to add an additional (literal) layer of modesty, a gray sweater on top. Pair of neutral low heels and viola, Angela.

Wednesday: Andy

Alright, maybe this one has the most room for coming across costumey. I’m going for Andy’s style that exists primarily in seasons 4-6 (his look is more toned-down both before and after those seasons). At that point in the show, Andy is what I describe as a shock-and-awe dresser. Bright colors, strong geometric patterns, sweater vests of all sorts, and a deep love for all things American Northeast. I went ahead and incorporated all of that into a single outfit.

Thursday: Karen

Honestly, Karen Filippelli’s was the easiest style to match to my own. She focuses on masculine-inspired suiting and keeps her colors either completely neutral or very toned down (i.e. no primary colors or abstract patterning). Her outfits do fit well, and she includes small accessories that make her looks feel finished. So I tried to be conscious of that when I chose this outfit.

Friday: Pam

Oh sweet delicate Pam. Honestly, she dresses fairly similar to Angela (especially in later seasons) so I wanted to make sure I used pastel colors to distinguish these two looks. I think the cardigan I’m wearing here perfectly represents Pam.
