Hello. This week is all about geometry. A geometric pattern is any geometric object repeated. So basically, you could argue that all objects (which can be described using types of geometry), when repeated, could be considered a geometric pattern. However, I’m focusing specifically on Euclidean geometry; the standard bearer of geometry. This means anything with straight lines and smooth curves (i.e. anything from Euclidean geometry) fits into my theme. So while something like fractal geometry- which describes natural objects like trees, flowers, rivers, etc- is included within Euclidean space itself and could be considered a “geometric pattern”, it is effectively distinct from Euclidean geometry, thus, no flowers this week. So this week will be focused on all those circles, rectangles, and triangles we know and love.
I volunteered with Junior Achievement on Thursday of this week, so I had to wear company-sponsored clothing that day, so it’ll be a 4-day week for this theme.
Let’s get into it.
